My Story
Greathouse of Decor is owned and operated by Natalie Greathouse, and started as a dream during my college years, as I was finishing up a teaching degree. I always had an eye for design, decor and details, even as a young, broke, college kid. I went on to pursue a 14 year long teaching career in various fields, while also building a successful private tutoring practice. Busyness of life, career and family always put this dream on the back burner. It wasn’t until I began tutoring inside other people’s homes that I realized, I couldn’t let this go. It’s in me, weaved into my being. I admit, while tutoring in clients’ homes, I would also be analyzing furniture placement, decorating color schemes, placement of accessories. I just couldn’t shut it off. Fast forward to 2019, my family moved back to Baldwinsville, NY and I’ve had the privilege of staying home with my children during this transition. Luckily, I also had a beautiful, new home to put my mark on. I began documenting and sharing my work through social media and working on friends and family’s homes as well. This quickly fueled the fire burning deep within. In December, 2020, amidst a pandemic, I took a leap to live my life dream, forming Greathouse of Decor.
